Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Carson Terryberry and Noah Rau Lead Chase County to Victory

Chase County waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They managed a 58-54 win over the Perkins County Plainsmen. For the Longhorns, this counts as revenge for the 47-35 victory the Plainsmen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Leading Chase County to victory were Noah Rau and Carson Terryberry. Rau went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds, while Terryberry almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Terryberry a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Lukas Fries, who posted seven points.

Chase County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Perkins County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Chase County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-44 loss against Gothenburg on the 17th. Perkins County has also already played their next game, a 69-34 victory against Wauneta-Palisade on the 17th.
