Basketball Recap: Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars vs. Stanton Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oakland-Craig, the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-39 victory over Stanton. This was a revenge contest for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, as the team was forced to settle for a 51-47 loss when these two played last Saturday.
Braden Hardin had a dynamite game for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, scoring 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hardin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Hegge, who scored nine points.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Stanton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast will be playing at home against the Gators on Tuesday. Wisner-Pilger is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Stanton, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Winside is ranked 242nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 267th).
