Recap: Oakland Wildcats vs. Skyline Titans
The Oakland Wildcats came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Skyline by a score of 62-51. Given Oakland's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Skyline is ranked 629th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jonathan Chapple continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Johnson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Oakland's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Skyline, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Oakland will take on St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in St. Patrick-St. Vincent's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 games. Skyline won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Albany at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. Albany will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
