They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 70-67 victory over Friends. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Chapelgate Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julian Sabbat led the charge by shooting 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sabbat has scored all season. Justin Bishop was another key contributor, scoring 24 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Chapelgate Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-10. As for Friends, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Chapelgate Christian Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome St. John's Catholic Prep at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th. Chapelgate Christian Academy has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Friends, they will head out on the road to face off against Archbishop Curley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
