Carbondale Area was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They won by a run and slipped past the Mountain View Eagles 6-5. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Alyssa Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emaleigh Bailey, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Aurora Esgro, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Carbondale Area's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Mountain View, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carbondale Area will square off against Forest City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mountain View, they will face off against Montrose at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Meteors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.25 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
