Football Recap: Arapahoe Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Arapahoe unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 20-0 to the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles on Friday. The Warriors have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Even if they lost, Arapahoe's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Brody Sieck with four. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one sack the last nine times he's played.

Mountain Vista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marquise Reese, who threw for 232 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 30 yards. That's the most rushing yards Reese has posted since back in September of 2024. 90 of Reese's passing yards were hauled in by Ja'Pree Jennings, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Mountain Vista pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arapahoe will face off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain Vista, they will host Erie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
