Football Recap: Arapahoe Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Arapahoe unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles on Friday, falling 20-0. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Even if they lost, Arapahoe's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Brody Sieck was especially locked on to Mountain Vista's QB and sacked him four times. Sieck is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season.

Mountain Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marquise Reese led the charge by throwing for 232 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 30 yards. That's the most rushing yards Reese has posted since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Reese's aerial production (90 yards to be exact) went to Ja'Pree Jennings, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Mountain Vista has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Arapahoe wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 35-14 victory against Heritage on the 5th. As for Mountain Vista, they have also already played their next contest, a 48-13 win against Erie on the 4th.
