Football Recap: Escanaba Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Escanaba couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They had to suffer through a 48-18 loss at the hands of the Big Rapids Cardinals. The Eskymos lost against the Cardinals in their previous head to head back in October of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 21-17 score last time.

Despite the loss, Escanaba had strong showings from Brody Ison, who gained 70 total yards, and Lennox Peacock, who picked up 74 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Big Rapids found their leader in sophomore Eli Foster, who rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 94 yards and one touchdown.

The defeat snapped Escanaba's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-2 record. As for Big Rapids, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Escanaba does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Big Rapids, they will face off against Unity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
