Recap: Buna Cougars vs. Anahuac Panthers
The Buna Cougars stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 61-32 victory over Anahuac. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Buna has posted against Anahuac since January 12, 2021.
Buna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brynn Branch led the charge by scoring 23 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Branch has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Epps, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Buna is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Anahuac, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-11.
Buna will be playing in front of their home fans against Kountze at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kountze comes in on five and Buna on three. As for Anahuac, they will head out on the road to challenge Hardin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hardin will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
