Recap: Gilroy Mustangs vs. Silver Creek Raiders
The Gilroy Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Silver Creek 65-60. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gilroy of the 57-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Gilroy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joshua Aldape, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Gonzales, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Silver Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Rubang led the charge by scoring 15 points. Rubang is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Michael Gonzalo, who scored 14 points.
