Basketball Game Preview: Dime Box Longhorns vs. Round Top-Carmine Cubs

The Dime Box Longhorns will face off against the Round Top-Carmine Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Dime Box turned things around against Calvert on Friday. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with a 48-28 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Longhorns have posted since November 15, 2024.

Meanwhile, Round Top-Carmine came tearing into Friday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Indians 54-34. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Round Top-Carmine has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.5 points per game. As for Dime Box, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Dime Box was dealt a bruising 80-23 loss at the hands of Round Top-Carmine in their previous meeting on January 3rd. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dime Box was down 37-9.
