After a string of seven wins, Plant's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to the Wharton Wildcats. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Wharton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nick Womack out in front who went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Tysen Jefferson, who posted eight points and three steals.

Plant's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Wharton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

When Plant and Wharton next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Plant will try to stop Plant City's four-game winning streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Wharton will square off against Sickles and their three-game winning streak at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
