Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Knights vs. Eastlake Titans

The Victory Christian Academy Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Eastlake Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Victory Christian Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Augustine just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints.

The losing side was boosted by Adrian Fernandez, who went 6 for 10 en route to 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jayden Gray, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Eastlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by Montgomery 87-48. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while the Aztecs are ranked ninth).

Eastlake's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Victory Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Victory Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Eastlake when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 66-62 win.
