The Dutchtown Griffins won the last time they faced the St. Amant Gators, and things went their way on Friday too. Dutchtown put the hurt on St. Amant with a sharp 31-7 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Dutchtown.
Dutchtown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Hanberry led the charge by rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Gary Dukes iii was another key contributor, rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Dutchtown's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for St. Amant, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dutchtown will take on Denham Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Denham Springs is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for St. Amant, they will be playing at home against Walker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walker is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
