Softball Recap: Sharon Tigers vs. Oil City Oilers

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sharon). Everything went their way against the Oil City Oilers on Thursday as they made off with a 19-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Madelyn Vogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sharon got a massive performance out of Addie McFann, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Claire Bodien, who went 1-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Sharon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Sharon's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
