With a playoff win on the line, Chatfield rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Albany Huskies with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Gophers, who have now won nine matches in a row.

One reason for the win was Chatfield's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-17.

Hannah Tweten was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 29 digs and six assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Albany's loss came despite strong showings from Katie Brickweg and Addison Brickweg. Katie had 14 digs and two assists, while Addison had 15 digs and one assist. Katie has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Chatfield's win bumped their record up to 27-7. As for Albany, their loss ended an eight-match streak of away wins and brought them to 28-4.

Chatfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Hawley on the 8th. As for Albany, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against New Life Academy on the 8th.
