Baseball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-4-1 to make it four. They lost 10-0 to the First Assembly Christian Crusaders. The game marked the first time this year in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

As for First Assembly Christian, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-17-1. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

For First Assembly Christian's part, Christian Forrest was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Forrest was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Conner Palmer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Jones, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Cordova will face off against Overton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for First Assembly Christian, they have already played their next match, an 18-3 win against Whitehaven on the 25th.
