Baseball Recap: Wolfe City Comes Up Short

Wolfe City had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Ford Panthers by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Wolfe City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casen Pessel, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

The win keeps Ford at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Ford will face off against Cumby at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wolfe City will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' contest: after the Panthers face off against De Kalb, they'll take on Wolfe City again at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.
