Baseball Recap: Panther Creek Takes a Loss

Panther Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Wakefield Wolverines, falling 15-4. If the Catamounts were looking for revenge after losing 14-2 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Panther Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Hatcher, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Panther Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Wakefield, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Panther Creek will head out to square off against Apex at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Panther Creek has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Wakefield, they will welcome Rolesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wakefield's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Rolesville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
