Basketball Recap: Timarian Howard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Immokalee over Golden Gate

Immokalee was the 62-48 winner over Golden Gate when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Immokalee Indians fell 58-51 to the Golden Gate Titans on Thursday.

Immokalee lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Timarian Howard, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 14 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayan Numa, who went 7 of 12 en route to 16 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Golden Gate to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Powell, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Powell has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kamal Hyppolite, who went 7 of 8 en route to 15 points.

Immokalee's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Golden Gate, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season.

Immokalee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-53 win against Gulf Coast on the 17th. As for Golden Gate, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-47 defeat against Barron Collier on the 17th.
