Softball Recap: Liberty Ranch Wins Going Away Against Kennedy

Liberty Ranch came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Kennedy Cougars on Friday as the Liberty Ranch Hawks made off with a 12-2 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Hawks' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Laura Quinn spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Paityn Snow was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Mariella Granata was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Liberty Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Liberty Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Kennedy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Liberty Ranch will be playing at home against Bear Creek at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bear Creek will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Liberty Ranch surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kennedy, they will face off against East Nicolaus at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
