Auburn owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on Maroa-Forsyth with a sharp 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for Auburn, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meena Taylor made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Auburn let Piper Taylor and Taylor Patterson run wild. Taylor went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double, while Patterson went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Taylor has posted since back in March. Addison Wheatley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Auburn's record is now 17-4. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

When Auburn and Maroa-Forsyth next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Trojans will take on Meridian and their three-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Auburn 1.5, the Hawks 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Maroa-Forsyth will try to stop Argenta-Oreana's five-game winning streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
