Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gilbert was the 3-2 winner over Gray Collegiate Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the War Eagles on Tuesday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Gilbert had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21.

Gabby Esposito paced Gilbert's offense, picking up 24 kills. Esposito got some help from Kaylie Spires and her 40 assists. Benita Stewart controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gilbert is set to challenge their familiar foe North Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gray Collegiate Academy will square off against rival Midland Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
