Escalon and Liberty Ranch squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Escalon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 8-7. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Dylan Ball was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Burk, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Escalon's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Liberty Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7-1 record this season.

Escalon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty Ranch, they will square off against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Zebras have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
