Softball Recap: West Mesa's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

West Mesa's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Manzano Monarchs as West Mesa made off with a 19-3 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won three games by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

West Mesa got a massive performance out of Ellie Padilla, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Aubrey Cordova also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

West Mesa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .885. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

West Mesa moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Manzano, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

West Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-4 victory against St. Pius X on the 21st. As for Manzano, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-7 win against Del Norte on the 21st.
