Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Christian School Crusaders vs. Newport Grizzlies

The Northwest Christian School Crusaders just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Newport Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Northwest Christian School is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Reardan just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 63-39 to the Screaming Eagles. The contest marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-43 heartbreaker at the hands of Colville.

Northwest Christian School's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Newport, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Northwest Christian School took their win against Newport when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 78-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwest Christian School since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
