Soccer Game Preview: Bowie vs. Del Valle

The Bowie Bulldogs will take on the Del Valle Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bowie is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake Travis just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Cavaliers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 246th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Del Valle brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let Austin onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Friday. The result kept the Cardinals happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 4th.

Del Valle is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six matchups. As for Bowie, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.

Bowie took their win against Del Valle in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Bowie repeat their success, or does Del Valle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
