Soccer Recap: South Caldwell Comes Up Short

South Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Alexander Central Cougars, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, South Caldwell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Alexander Central are ranked 136th).

South Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1. As for Alexander Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. South Caldwell is set to take on their familiar foe Ashe County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Alexander Central will challenge rival Hibriten at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
