Soccer Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln lost to Springfield Southeast back in March of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Railsplitters lost 6-1 to the Spartans. Lincoln were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Shay Neeley, who's now up to 12 this season.

Lincoln has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17-2 record this season. As for Springfield Southeast, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-11.

Coming up, Lincoln will welcome Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last. As for Springfield Southeast, they will head out to challenge Peoria Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
