Baseball Recap: Montrose Wins Going Away Against Bayfield

Montrose's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Bayfield Wolverines. The Red Hawks haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Montrose got a massive performance out of Jayce England, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave England a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joey Benitez, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Montrose always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-10. As for Bayfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wolverines beat Montrose by a score of 13-11 later that day.
