Glencoe gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Hokes Bluff Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellowjackets also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Glencoe was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-12.

Mia Talbot paced Glencoe's offense, picking up 14 kills. Talbot got some help from Kinlee Montgomery and her 14 assists. Peyton Gray controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Glencoe will take on Alexandria at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hokes Bluff, they will challenge Cherokee County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
