Recap: Mounds Golden Eagles vs. Haskell Haymakers
The Mounds Golden Eagles lost against the Haskell Haymakers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mounds took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Haskell. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mounds in their matchups with Haskell: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexa Wilson, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals. Baylie Harig was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Mounds' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Haskell, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mounds will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Porter at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Haskell, they will head out on the road to face off against Keys at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
