It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ionia ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Alma Panthers 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Ionia's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Roundtree, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Nolan Lundstrom also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Ionia's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Alma, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Ionia will face off against Olivet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alma, they will host Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
