Volleyball Recap: Clarksville Comes Up Short

Clarksville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cannelton Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Generals of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cannelton scored at least nine points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 25-27, 19-25, 15-9.

Clarksville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cannelton, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Clarksville will take on Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cannelton, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Lanesville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
