Our studio crew checks out some of the noteworthy current streaks.

Eastside Catholic (Sammamish, Wash.) pulled off one of the biggest wins of the 2014 high school football season when it defeated Bellevue (Wash.) in the Class 3A state playoffs. The win ended a 67-game win streak for Bellevue, which is the longest winning streak in state history.

The Bellevue loss also moved Edgewood Academy (Elmore, Ala.) into the No. 1 spot for the longest current winning streak in the nation. Edgewood Academy set the Alabama state record (not the AHSAA record) for consecutive wins last year with 57.

Other long win streaks that came to an end last year included a 69-game streak by (Ithaca, Mich.), which fell two games short of the state record of 71 by Hudson. Ithaca's streak ended a week before Bellevue's loss. Regina (Iowa) also had its 56-game win streak end last year, leaving it in a tie for the state record.

Right behind Edgewood Academy on the current list is Christ Church Episcopal (Greenville, S.C.), which upped its win streak to 54 games in a row last year and set the South Carolina state record.

Meanwhile, Maine-Endwell (Endwell, N.Y.) also has over 50 wins in a row at 51. It needs just four more wins to tie the state record of 55.

MaxPreps presents the top 10 active winning streaks heading into the 2015 football season, along with the top winning streak in each state. For info on the Top 10 teams, go down to their respective states. State records are also provided below when available.
