Basketball Recap: West Greene Comes Up Short

West Greene lost against North Greene back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The West Greene Buffaloes fell 52-44 to the North Greene Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Huskies are ranked 107th).

Despite the loss, West Greene still got an impressive performance from Morgan Brown, who went 8 for 15 en route to 22 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Justis, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points.

West Greene has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for North Greene, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

West Greene didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 45-33 win against Hampton on the 21st. North Greene has also already played their next contest, a 52-35 victory against Cosby on the 21st.
