Baseball Recap: Eastside Early College Falls to Navarro in First Game of Season

Eastside Early College had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Navarro Vikings by a score of 10-8. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Joseph Nuncio put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nuncio was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Aydan Aguilar made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.

Eastside Early College will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Manor New Tech at 7:30 p.m. on April 1st. As for Navarro, they will head out on the road to square off against SA Roosevelt at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
