League recap: Ronk dominating on the mound for Mount Miguel

Mount Miguel's Daniel Ronk was the best pitcher in Grossmont - Valley this week. He picked up one win and four strikeouts.

El Capitan currently sits at the top of the league with a mark of 11-17 overall and 9-3 in league play. Santana is 1 game back and in second place with an 8-4 league record.

The Matadors' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 20 hits and four walks to lead the league in both categories.

There were three hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Brad Moreno, who hit .500 this week (6-for-12).

Mount Miguel's Brad Moreno rapped six hits this week, raising his season total to 53, a number that leads the league.



Ronk threw a shutout as he led the Matadors to victory over Castle Park, 3-0, on Wednesday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out four, while giving up zero hits.
