Football Recap: South Callaway Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

South Callaway had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the North Callaway Thunderbirds on Friday, falling 34-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Thunderbirds since September 3, 2021.

Despite the loss, South Callaway still got an impressive performance from Ethan Munford, who rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Munford's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Leading North Callaway to victory were Kellen Long and Coltyn O'Neal. Long gained 152 total yards and a touchdown, while O'Neal threw for 101 yards and one TD.

Coming up, South Callaway will face off against Hermann at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Callaway, they will challenge Macon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
