 Broughton's game  last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Monday. They walked away with  a   5-1  victory over the Athens Drive Jaguars. For Broughton, this counts as revenge for the   5-1 defeat Athens Drive walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2023.
 Broughton got a great performance from  Sam Harris as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only a  hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Harris has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time he's  pitched this season.  Cooper Wall relieved him and did a solid job,   pitching two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits.
 At the plate,  Andrew Durham was a standout: he scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.  Sam Bertram was another key contributor,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with  an  RBI.
 On Athens Drive's side,  Jack Snipes was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched.
 On the hitting side, Athens Drive saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Austin Mantz, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Broughton is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record  this season. As for Athens Drive, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broughton will take on Fuquay - Varina at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Athens Drive, they will be playing at home against East Chapel Hill at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
