Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Washington

Washington won the last time they faced Irvington, and Esean Johnson did his part to make sure it happened again. The Washington Huskies blew past the Irvington Vikings, posting an 80-45 victory thanks to Johnson, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 21 points and seven boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gianni Clark, who went 5-for-12 en route to 16 points and seven assists. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

The win made it two in a row for Washington and bumps their season record up to 16-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31 points. As for Irvington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will head out to square off against Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Irvington, they will venture away from home to take on Moreau Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moreau Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Irvington likes a good challenge.
