Baseball Recap: Taylor Comes Up Short

Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 7-4 to the Mariemont Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Josh Paff was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Kantz, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Mariemont, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Mariemont will host Goshen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Taylor will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' contest: after the Warriors faces off against Madeira, they'll take on Taylor again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
