Baseball Game Preview: Addison Trail Blazers vs. Glenbard South Raiders

The Addison Trail Blazers will head out on the road to square off against the Glenbard South Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Addison Trail is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Addison Trail came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of York by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

Jordan Ciezobka was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Louie Franczak was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Glenbard South, as they earned their first away win of the season. They came out on top against Leyden by a score of 12-9 on Tuesday. The Raiders have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Joe DeMeo was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Gavin Pogorzelski was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Glenbard South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Addison Trail's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Glenbard South, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Addison Trail skirted past Glenbard South 2-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blazers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
