Softball Game Preview: Sandalwood Saints vs. Wolfson Wolfpack

The Sandalwood Saints will square off against the Wolfson Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sandalwood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Sandalwood's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Riverside. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Sandalwood got a massive performance out of Annie Bascon, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Heath, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Sandalwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverside only posted an OBP of .273.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Wolfson was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against Paxon School For Advanced Studies, falling 16-1.

Wolfson's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Sandalwood, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.

Sandalwood took their victory against Wolfson when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Wolfpack have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
