Football Recap: Mesquite Wildcats vs. Combs Coyotes
A win for Mesquite just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were outmatched by the Combs Coyotes on the road and fell 50-14. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.
Although Mesquite took the loss, they still got scores from Samari Mercado-Layfield and Parker Kaczmarek.
Mesquite wouldn't let Combs keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Mesquite can thank Marcus Banks and Seth Hammond for forcing both of them.
Combs was led to victory by Izaak Jeffcoat and Kannin Hale. Jeffcoat gained 89 total yards and three touchdowns, while Hale threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Jeffcoat is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Combs, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
