Basketball Recap: Ardmore Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Ardmore had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the Athens Bible Trojans 60-58. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 54-51 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2020.

Athens Bible's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Hester, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Hester is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Murrell, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points.

Ardmore's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10. As for Athens Bible, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ardmore will square off against Athens Bible at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Athens Bible, they will host Elkmont at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Athens Bible is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
