Football Recap: Colonial Takes Down Winter Park in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Colonial had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 12-7 W over the Winter Park Wildcats on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Grenadiers, who have now won five matches in a row.

Colonial found their leader in sophomore Iliana Dorvilus, who rushed for 50 yards and one score, and also threw for 100 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of her passes.

Colonial didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Winter Park to a completion percentage of just 37.7%. The last time the Grenadiers' completion percentage was this high was back in March of 2024.

Colonial's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Winter Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Colonial will square off against Timber Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Grenadiers surely won't give up without a fight. Winter Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
