Volleyball Recap: Hoffman Estates Takes a Loss

Hoffman Estates saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Niles North Vikings by a score of 2-1.

Jimmy Schroeder paced Hoffman Estates' offense, picking up 11 kills. Schroeder got some help from Nathaniel Ham and his 16 assists. Spencer Cruz controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Niles North was led to victory by Rafael dan Bartilad and Horia Beca. Bartilad had 20 digs and four assists, while Beca had 19 assists and six digs. That's the most digs Beca has posted over his last 12 games.

Hoffman Estates' defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Niles North, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoffman Estates will face off against Barrington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fillies/Broncos will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Niles North, they are taking a road trip to challenge Vernon Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
