Manor New Tech had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the Eastside Early College Panthers as they made off with a 13-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-2 last Tuesday.

Gabriel Posada was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Manor New Tech: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ahmad Riley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Manor New Tech is undefeated when Riley posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Alex Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Manor New Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Manor New Tech pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Eastside Early College, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Manor New Tech has already played their next game, a 13-1 win against Travis on the 8th. As for Eastside Early College, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on LBJ Austin at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
