Basketball Recap: Calhoun Academy Cavaliers vs. Cathedral Academy Generals
The Calhoun Academy Cavaliers lost against the Cathedral Academy Generals back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Calhoun Academy took a serious blow against the Generals, falling 52-10. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calhoun Academy has scored all season.
Leading Cathedral Academy to victory were Claire Griffin and Jalyn Almeida. Griffin scored 19 points, while Almeida scored 24 points. Almeida has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 13 times she's played.
Calhoun Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cathedral Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun Academy will take on the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cathedral Academy, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
